Third 3d studio max exercise

It's a shark! I made him purple, the color of danger!
This assignment was to model underwater creatures using imageplanes and get more familiar with the different modelling tools like extrude, inset, cut and all that jazz.

I like Maya, but 3D studio max really has a lot of nice features when it comes to modelling. Like the tools are easy to use and easy to access through a sidepanel instead of hidden away in menus.

Also  the mirroring and smoothing operations are done using modifiers.

In Maya you can just press 3 to see your mesh smoothed, so that's pretty handy. But by using modifiers you can perform several operations and then preview them at once and just as easily go back and continue to sculpt. I'm still a total newb when it comes to Max but I'm starting to like it more and more.

  1. I am looking for models to rig for school/portfolio, and would like to get permission to use this model.

What I would like to do with this model are the following:
1:) use as is and rig it for as a shark.

2:) use it as a base mesh to model and transform it into another shark type of creature to match another person's concept art and then rig. I would be adding arms/legs, turning it into a hammerhead shark and possibly adding some accessories to it.
